Coming from UK, Gravity Field is a one man project that caught my attention from the very first seconds of listening to the same titled album. John Basset is the man that handled the difficult task to combine the heavy riffing of Black Sabbath with the psychedelic rock sound of the 70’s and in my opinion he did a pretty decent job.

The (download only) album consists of eight tracks, all in the same spirit. The biggest accomplishment of this album, is that it can keep your interest high until the end, through familiar sounds.

Let’s see what John Basset had to tell us about his work in a mini interview that made with us.

Hi John. Please give us some information about Gravity Field and how would you describe your music?

I wanted to make a heavy album, stuffed full of riffs with that Sabbath, RATM head banging style, that I personally to hear that much of anymore, and have a paranoid, big brother sci-fi vibe running through it

How was making all of it happen by yourself? Do you mean to keep Gravity Field going as a one man project?

John: It’s a lot of work, but I love being in control of everything. My other band KingBathmat have been rehearsing the Gravity Field tunes so there is a live band for gigs, but the next album will also be done by only me.

Is there any chance to make a CD version of your album?

I was hoping to put out a double CD when I finish the next album, but it depends how much interest there is, and if it is worth it money wise.

Have you got in touch with any record label and how possible a record deal is in the near future?

I have been in touch with many record labels with KingBathmat over the years, and few have expressed an interest, but nothing has come of it. There was a Greek record label interested in the gravity field album but I didn’t think they were suitable. I’m not sure if a record deal is something i would go for these days, I don’t trust anyone anymore.

Where can one find the album?

Download it at http://www.gravityfield.co.uk and http://www.myspace.com/gravityfieldmusic for only £3.99 through paypal

Thank you very much. Any last words?

Thank you very much, and always remember to say no to microchip implants.
