PRIMAL FEAR Parts Ways With Drummer RANDY BLACK

Due to "irreconcilable differences" between singer Ralf Scheepers and drummer Randy Black, Randy will leave German/Swedish/Canadian power metallers PRIMAL FEAR effective August 16, one day after the band's performance at the Summer Breeze festival in Germany. Summer Breeze will mark Randy's final show with the group. PRIMAL FEAR will announce their new drummer in September. The band states: "We wish Randy all the best in his future career." PRIMAL FEAR's tenth studio album, "Delivering The Black", was released on January 24 in Europe and January 28 in North America via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Unbreakable" landed at position No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. After some very intense songwriting sessions and pre-production schedule, the band started to record "Delivering The Black" in the summer of 2013 at the House Of Music studios in Germany, with Mat Sinner and engineer Achim Köhler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN). The band then moved to Denmark in September 2013 to finish the album, with acclaimed producer/engineer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS, AMARANTHE) handling the mix at his Hansen studio in Ribe. "Delivering The Black", which can be ordered at Amazon.com, combines the strongest PRIMAL FEAR moments ever, with crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album are the two epic tracks "When Death Comes Knocking" and the 10-minute opus "One Night In December".

PRIMAL FEAR Guitarist MAGNUS KARLSSON To Sit Out Tour; TOM NAUMANN To Fill In

PRIMAL FEAR guitarist Magnus Karlsson will sit out the band's upcoming touring activites during 2014 so that he can spend more time with his "little kids." Filling in for him will be PRIMAL FEAR's founding member Tom Naumann. Says Karlsson: "My friends in PRIMAL FEAR are very understanding about my situation and for that I'm grateful." Frontiers Records will release "Delivering The Black", the tenth studio album from PRIMAL FEAR, on January 24 in Europe and January 28 in North America. Audio samples of all the tracks that are set to appear on the CD can be streamed at Amazon.com. After some very intense songwriting sessions and pre-production schedule, the band started to record the new CD in summer 2013 at the House Of Music studios in Germany, with bassist/producer Mat Sinner and engineer Achim Köhler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN). The band then moved to Denmark in September to finish the album, with acclaimed producer/engineer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS, AMARANTHE) handling the mix at his Hansen studio in Ribe. "Delivering The Black" combines the strongest PRIMAL FEAR moments ever, with a well-balanced typical PRIMAL FEAR trademark riff vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album are two epic tracks, "When Death Comes Knocking" and the 10-minute opus "One Night In December", spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs. Classic and ultra-fresh PRIMAL FEAR riff-rockers like the title track, the album opener "King For A Day" or the groove monsters "Alive And On Fire" and "Road To Asylum" hit the bulls-eye just like the untamed speed killer "Rebel Faction". The outstanding ballad "Born With A Broken Heart" shows a new side of PRIMAL FEAR with an acoustic guitar vibe and the addition of Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES) on backing vocals.

PRIMAL FEAR Films Two New Videos

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have finished filming music videos for two new songs from their forthcoming tenth studio album, "Delivering The Black": the first single, "When Death Comes Knocking", plus "King For A Day". The band states: "Great vibe and time — you will love it!" "Delivering The Black" will be released in January 2014 via Frontiers Records. The CD was mixed with Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS, DESTRUCTION) at his Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark. 12 tracks were recorded during the new album sessions, including "two epic songs, one guitar ballad, and nine crushing metal songs with all the trademarks you know and love to hear from PRIMAL FEAR," according to the band. The effort was engineered by Achim Köhler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN) and was produced by PRIMAL FEAR bassist Mat Sinner. "Delivering The Black" features a guest appearance by Norwegian singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull (LEAVES' EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY) on the song "Born With A Broken Heart". In a recent interview with Jump Metal, PRIMAL FEAR vocalist Ralf Scheepers stated about the musical direction of the band's upcoming album: "It's not so far away [from what we've done in the past], because we have our style, you know. It was hard for us to imagine… because [2012's] 'Unbreakable' was a pretty tough... and really, in our ears, pretty great album, and for us, it was somehow hard to top it. But as soon as we started to write the new songs, and as soon as I heard what Mat and Magnus [Karlsson, guitar] did in the first place — because then they sent me some stuff and I added my ideas on it — I just thought, 'Wow, this is amazing.' And in the end, it really turned out to be a better album than 'Unbreakable'." Frontiers and PRIMAL FEAR in January announced that they have renewed their partnership for another multi-album deal, which will include two more studio releases and one live CD and DVD. PRIMAL FEAR's latest album, "Unbreakable", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 44 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
