MOTÖRHEAD’s LEMMY: ‘We Will Be Back’ To ‘Kick Everybody’s Ass’

MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister says that it was a "tough decision" to cancel the remaining eight shows on the group's European festival tour due to his recent health struggles, but assures fans that he and his bandmates will be be back to "kick everybody's ass." Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel) last month, forcing the band to scrap a handful of dates. The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems. In an official statement, MOTÖRHEAD said: "MOTÖRHEAD deeply regret to disappoint all fans this summer. The band decided to cancel the summer shows. Doctors strongly advised that Lemmy needs to take his time to get his body back in balance. To achieve this, the doctor and Lemmyagreed that it would be best to take it easy for a while. While saying this, we can assure that the fall tour will be as explosive, loud and incredible as ever."

MOTÖRHEAD Frontman’s Health Issues Force Concert Cancelations

According to Soundsblog.it, MOTÖRHEAD canceled this past Saturday's (June 22) appearance in Austria at the See-Rock festival and the June 25 show in Milan, Italy, due to an unspecified "haematoma" suffered by the band's frontman, Lemmy Kilmister. The news was first broken by the See-Rock festival web site, and then the promoters of the Milan show confirmed the health issue. A haematoma is a localized collection of blood outside the blood vessels usually in liquid form within the tissue. It can happen on any part of the body, with different degrees of heath consequences. It was revealed in the latest issue of U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine that \Kilmister recently had a defibrillator fitted — an operation to put a device in his chest to help his heart beat normally — after experiencing "heart problems."
