Video: PAUL DI’ANNO, BLAZE BAYLEY Perform IRON MAIDEN Classic In Helsinki

Fan-filmed video footage of former IRON MAIDEN singers Blaze Bayley and Paul Di'Anno — who are currently on the road together — performing MAIDEN's theme song, "Iron Maiden", on November 14 at Tavastia in Helsinki, Finland can be seen below. Bayley and Di'Anno previously toured together in Russia and Australia/New Zealand last year. Asked how the trek came about, Blaze told Metal-Rules.com, "I had put it off for years as once before it had been suggested, but it didn’t feel right at the time. Also, when I had my full-time band, it was exclusive. No one in the band could do anything else, and that included me. There was a lot of things that I wanted to try, but I couldn’t do it as I was committed to staying with my full-time band. This offer came up, and I had done a couple of festivals on the same bill as Paul, and it was offered as a co-headliner, not as a support, switching the headliner every night. Paul was also OK with that and it also wasn't just all my MAIDEN stuff — it was a lot of my stuff from my own albums — so I could choose my setlist, to a certain degree, and also include my popular MAIDEN material also. It felt good to do it and say yes! It was also in Russia, a very difficult place to get into. The fans are great but it's very difficult to get in touch with them. Sometimes even to let them know that you are playing! I thought that it would be an opportunity for me, but on my last trip, there was poor promotion; I hardly played to anybody. I thought this time it would be different as all the shows were full, reaction was great and I played to a lot of new people. These people knew about me from IRON MAIDEN but had never seen me live. I came away from the tour after playing to my target audience and new people who had never previously seen me live; it was really good, Paul and I both enjoyed it." Bayley added, "[Di'Anno is] a very funny guy with a dry sense of humor and we gave each other plenty of space, as we are both experienced with different opinions of IRON MAIDEN. It worked well."

IRON MAIDEN’s BRUCE DICKINSON Talks Next Album, Touring, Singing Technique And Outside Projects

IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson recently spoke to Argentina's Vorterix about the band's plans to record a new studio album, the touring life, his singing technique and his many outside projects, among other topics. A few excerpts from the chat follow below. (Thanks to MaidenRevelations.com for helping transcribe some parts of the interview.) On when IRON MAIDEN plans to release a new studio album: Dickinson: "Well, I mean, we are going to do another album. When we do it, I can't tell you." On whether any new material has already been written for the next IRON MAIDEN CD: Dickinson: "Actually I've written a load of stuff. You know, we're all writing little bits and bobs all the time. We'll see what happens, you know. But yeah, sure." On whether IRON MAIDEN plans to revisit its '90s material on its future tours: Dickinson: "We haven't got that far yet. Let's finish this one ['Maiden England'] first and see what happens next year. But yeah, I do not think MAIDEN fans are going to be too disappointed for too long." On how IRON MAIDEN has managed to avoid the excesses that came along with being a huge '80s rock band: Dickinson: "It's just kind of what we're like, really. I mean, I'm not saying that nobody in the band has ever tried or mucked around with smoking dope when they we're younger. Most kids have probably tried smoking dope. Most kids have probably tried a few other things that I've never tried.

IRON MAIDEN Is Biggest Foreign Concert Draw Ever In Chile

According to MaidenRevelations.com, Chilean newspaper La Tercera has called British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN the biggest foreign concert draw ever in Chile, with a total of 226,000 tickets sold for the seven shows the band has played in the country since 1996. This feat is made even more remrakble by the fact that MAIDEN was banned by the church from playing in Chile in 1992. IRON MAIDEN wrapped its massive "Maiden England 2013 World Tour" on October 2 in front of an audience of 60,105 spectators at the national stadium Estadio Nacional in Santiago. "Because we were banned in the '90s, people have felt a very strong connection to us," IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson told La Tercera. "And we have always brought great shows with us and worked hard not to disappoint the audience." IRON MAIDEN first played in Santiago in 1996 at a time when the band was fronted by Blaze Bayley. The concert was attended by 18,000 fans and included the infamous "Blaze Gets Mad" version of the song "The Trooper". During a brand new interview with Chile's Radio Futuro, IRON MAIDEN guitarist Dave Murraywas asked if there are any plans for the band to return to the studio to begin work on material for the follow-up to 2010's "The Final Frontier". "We've been out on tour quite a few months this year," Dave explained. "So when we finish, we're actually going to go and head back and take a break, really." He continued: "We haven't got any plans, as such, really, what's gonna happen next year. Basically, we're just gonna wait and see. [laughs] But there's things that are going on in the meantime. I mean, we just had a beer come out — it's like the Trooper beer — and that's actually doing really well. So we'll just let the Trooper beer go on tour for us. [laughs] And then we're just gonna spend some time off recuperating. So I'm not quite sure what's gonna be happening next year. It's all up in the air." IRON MAIDEN in August landed at position No. 1 on Billboard.com's "Hot Tours" list of top-grossing tours with $8.5 million in ticket sales from six performances on their summer tour of Europe. The shows were attended by a total of 121,280 fans, including a two-night, sold-out stand on August 3-4 at the O2 Arena in Lonon, England, where the band played to 27,000 fans.
