CARCASS To Release ‘Captive Bolt Pistol’ Single

Reactivated British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS will release a new single, "Captive Bolt Pistol", on August 9. The track comes off the band's comeback album, "Surgical Steel", which will be made available on September 16 in the U.K., September 13 in the rest of Europe and September 17 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was produced by Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD,NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) and mixed byAndy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY). Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in CARCASS' current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION,LIQUEFIED SKELETON). PEARL JAM To Release ‘Lightning Bolt’ In October

PEARL JAM will release its new album, "Lightning Bolt", on October 15. The CD's first single "Mind Your Manners", is available for download onPearlJam.com. The band has been working intermittently on the follow-up to 2009's"Backspacer" for the past eighteen months with producer Brendan O'Brien. In May, guitarist Stone Gossard told Billboard.com the album was "sounding great. I think people are going to be excited about it."

BOLT THROWER: ‘Hopefully It Won’t Be Another 20 Years ‘Till We Hit U.S. Soil Again’

British extreme metal pioneers BOLT THROWER have continued their "quality-not-quantity" approach to performing live and that has definitely paid off. In 2010, they played a number of shows and festivals across Europe, and from doing more intimate underground shows (in keeping with their roots), they can also pull off performing to a festival crowd of 30,000 people. That's why, as they reached and moved beyond their 25th anniversary, BOLT THROWER are still at the top of their game. Finally, after only a handful of North American dates in the past few years, limited to Maryland Deathfest, BOLT THROWER recently part in the"Return To Chaos" tour. The band performed seven shows across the U.S. in May.
