There’s an old saying, that goes something like that, “metal needs to be ugly, fast, loud and rude”. I, personally, fully agree to this statement, when it comes to thrash metal, but I’ll also add another ingredient, that goes beyond different metal genres: pure honest emotion, that cannot be imitated, either you have it or you don’t! Swedishfilthy thrashers, GEHENNAH, are masters of honesty in their music, loyal to the principles taught and preached by the mighty Motorhead and Venom!

After the “Metal Police” EP, they return with “Too Loud To Live, Too Drunk To Die“. “Still The Elite”, “Life Metal Must Die” and the title track set the tone, with the Venom-meets-Motorhead approach of the band, devastating everything in its path, including some rock ‘n roll flavored solos. That’s where the “honesty” factor takes its toll. Every song title and every lyric is self-explanatory, self-sarcastic at times, and to the goddamn point!

“Scumbag”, “Gehennah Will Destroy Your Life”, “Let’s Fall Off The Wagon”, “Cause We’re A Street Metal Band”, “When All Else Fails – Destroy!”, “Tonight We Fight”, “Low On Cash, High On Speed”, “We Stole Your Song”, “Unholy And Unpleasant”, “All Of The Decadence, None Of The Success”. Is there any chance, someone will not immediately understand, what this band is all about?

Pure adrenaline, violent feelgood music, spanning 36 minutes of unstoppable pounding. It’s one of those records, you instantly get what they’re all about, by the time the first song ends and you find yourself reaching to the last song with crazy headbanging, following the frenzy of these North filthy bastards.

Filthy, raw, uncompromising, alcohol-fueled, raw and honest! That’s the way they like it, and more importantly, that’s the way we like it!
