Bands like Cage are always a pleasure to hear. Their music is full of energy and passion and it can always fix your day. American heavy/power metallers Cage, were formed in 1992, they released their first album in 1998 and since then they have released another 5 records. They exist a lot of years so they know what to do to satisfy their fans and they have not released a bad album yet. Their 6th record is called “Supremacy Of Steel”. An album that captures your attention firstly with its name that is a classic yet powerful name for a record, and secondly , with its great cover. The artist of the cover made a brilliant job. But of course what matters is the music of the album. That is great!

In “Supremacy Of Steel” you may not listen to something new, but you will listen to an album that is very good. Classic heavy/power metal with guts, played with such energy that you think that the album was written by a teen band! High speeds in almost the whole album, that make it very hard not to headbang while listening to it. There is no bad song in this record. Some songs may be a level above the others, like “Metal Empire”, “Doctor Doom” and “Flying Fortress” but there is no song in this record that is boring or uninspired. The guitars in “Supremacy Of Steel” are great. The 2 guitarists of the band, Dave “Conan” Garcia and Steve “MetalBrog” Brogden have written some very good riffs in this record, riffs that could have easily been in the records of the “big” bands of the genre, and also some solos that are magnificent. The drums are also perfect, of course with a lot of double bass parts. The vocals are something else. Sean Peck is a great singer, that can do a lot of things with his voice. He sings mostly in high fequencies, sometimes so high that brings you in mind Rob Halford. But he can also make his voice a bit darker something that is very interesting. The production is very good and it sounds a lot like a live production.

Overall, “Supremacy Of Steel” shows how heavy/power metal albums should be played. Cage once again showed the way. It is a record with power, energy and cohesion,As they say in the album, “True metal will never die”!
