Fullforce – One

This band contains some of the most unfairly judged musicians of the Swedish metal area. In 2009 FULLFORCE was formed by members Mike Andersson (Cloudscape,Vocals), Stefan Elmgren (ex Hammerfall, Guitars), Anders Johansson
(Hammerfall, ex Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Drums), CJ Grimmark (ex Narnia, Guitars) and Tommy Larsson (ex Heed, Bass). The Swedish five-piece started to write songs in order to complete their album and they describe their music to be a genuine blend of traditional, catchy heavy metal to more updated melodic metal with some ethnic touches which will make them a standout to within the genre. The band truly believes in their music and in late summer of 2010 they completed the recording of 12 songs to be included on “One”.

Surely the CV almost every member of the band is not to be neglected but what about the music of their debut album, “One” ? This, also, cannot be neglected…as the band manages to escape from the barriers of the “traditional” power, melodic Swedish sound. The band manages to raise the bar in terms of performance with Mike Andersson, Stefan Elmgren and Anders Johansson who add their unique blueprint to the sound of this album. Especially, Johan Andersson, has admitted that lots of his ideas were thrown away by Hammerfall and judging the outcome of their latest album “Infected”, it’s my opinion that they should think otherwise about the composing abilities of their drummer.

Fullforce’s debut album, “One”, can be characterised as a sample of a more open minded metal sound containing lots of experimentations, that the band manages to keep beyond certain levels. Many bands in the power and melodic heavy genre, have failed to renew their sound. However, “Fullforce” give us the thing that all these bands failed to accomplish, the next best thing in their own genre.
