Such a joy… finally! The mighty Asphyx have returned after nine years of absence, it was 2000 when they released ”On The Wings Of Inferno” and since then, their tracks were lost.

Until now, that we gladly have them back among us. With Martin Van Drunen on vocals! Now if this is not good news, what the hell should it be? One of the best growlers of all times, also current member of Hail of Bullets and former member of Pestilence and Bolt Thrower (only for live shows after …For Victory). Another basic detail is that this time, the group has as second guitar player the talented Paul Baayens, also Hail of Bullets member alongside Van Drunen, which is known for his other band, Thanatos.

So, experience is added also by another brick in the wall. Was this the album we’ve been expecting from them? Hell yeah it is! It is like not even a day has passed since the glorious era, where European death metal was at its highest moments. Without clean vocals, modern beatdowns and rest bullshit, Asphyx is here to awake the lost feeling, where playing is simple, rhythms are haunting, songs vary from heavy mid tempo nightmarish acts to unleashed attacks which remind of World Wars I & II, combined also with Van Drunen’s lyrics of battles, killings and grim or bitter sceneries.

This album could be a surprise to the ones not knowing the band or the ones that thought Asphyx were dead for good. Well, guess what gentlemen: They are here, alive and kicking, whether you like it or not. Enjoy this return while it lasts. None of you will stand again on the defeated site.
