I hadn’t search for a new band that had just realeased its new album for some time, since I consider it to be a big risk since there are a few bands that are really worth. But now I wanted to take that risk and with a little more search my eye fell on what I was looking for.
Slavior are then my choice, a new progressive/heavy metal band that the musicians that comprise it only irrelevant can’t be considered and that can be shown from the bands that the three only musicians that comprise the group have worked with: Mark Zonder (Fates Warning/Warlord) on Drums, Gregg Analla (Tribe of Gypsies/Seventhsign) on Vocals, Wayne Findlay(M.S.G./Vinnie Moore) on Guitars, Keyboards and Bass.
Musically Slavior follow the path that the big progressive bands have shown. Beautiful (by periods) riff beautiful solos but in my opinion “with a sign of reservation” a little experimentation as they try in some parts to marry prog with some elements of hardcore so that the songs sound more dynamic. Of course don’t think that by listening to the album you will discover something different since it moves on multiused elements.
Songs that you can distinguish from the album are the very beautiful balad “Altar”, the very good “Another Planet” which proves the title of “Progressive group” as well as the very strong “Slavior”.
Finally, the cd is a good first indication of the capabilities of the band and I hope to some further development of the band in their next jobs.
