Well there isn’t much fun going to concerts with such a great lineup cause there is nothing much to write about when you start doing a report! The reason I am telling this is that if I had the chance to describe this gig just by using a few words these would be: Awesome experience which made us proud of our local acts.

Before I start writing about the bands’ appearance, there are a few secondary but important notices I’d like to give, such as that even though this day wasn’t helping too much for the people that had to go to work the following day, none was distracted and the venue was gratifying full. Worthy to mention as well is that even from the soundcheck I was really excited with the focused work the two sound engineers were doing in order to achieve a well-advised result, which in fact it may have signaled the delay of the beginning time, however it strongly helped us to be left with this great flavor at the end. So everything starts with the proper conditions and some “Freefall” tunes in the air at about 21:30.

Freefall was formed back in 1998 but I kinda lost them lately (I think I had to see them perform on stage since the CRF competitions in 2002) and that’s maybe because some strange situations forced the band to underlie into quite a few lineup changes and some discussions about the final genre the band will continue playing. These discussions proved to worth the cost cause Freefall seem to have really adopt the perfect set and attitude for what they play.

Even from the first track their “mission” was accomplished and the crowd was totally warmed up due to their groovy program and their aggressive blasts. Everyone left with the greatest impressions and ready for the following thrash fuss commonly known as Drunkard!

The band has done a great job so far and many people have excited their interest on them. Drunkard came to 8ball club as fresh as a daisy and that’s because they are in the hoot of expecting their second full-length album which was recently recorded at Hertz Studios in Poland. What I have to say about this day’s appearance is that Drunkard was with no doubt the surprise of the day and the lineup that everyone were speaking about afterwards.

Their music is a combination of fast and aggressive tempos with some modern elements which you can call it pure thrash as well! Do you need more to check this band’s latest release and follow them in every upcoming shows?

Third band on stage was Psycho Choke. This is not the first time I am doing a live report for this band and I guess there is no need to mention again that I consider them as my favorite artists of our country’s underground (well I just did it!). Psycho Choke have grabbed the feeling of playing lives many years ago and their professionalism on stage due to all these years became obvious for once more.

Their energy is their deck and their really inspiring tracks is the ace. As far as the specific show is concerned though it is the first time that it seemed to me they could do much better (especially Alkis, the singer) who kinda seemed like tired or not in a great mood. Their show was still a kickass and everyone left with the greatest impressions and a hot appetite for this day’s headliners.

It is time for the German thrashers Dew Scented to get on stage. It is a great feeling attending gigs where there are this kind of bands who can 100% represent what they report they play. They started their show with a very friendly welcoming to the crowd and an intro song which helped us understand that this dew is definitely more disastrous than scented! Their flaming stage set and their pure thrash action left Dew Scented not only free from any blames but it placed them to the best of the kind at least in my personal records. The new members have totally fulfilled the band’s expectations and one of the best moments in their show was definitely the fact that in the song “Cities Of The Dead” there was a co-operation between Leif Jensen and a Greek singer named Vasilis.

The result was a masterpiece and I was really excited hearing that this guy told the band that this is his favorite track and they just told him: Why don’t you come on stage to sing with us?

The band finished their show with the track “Acts Of Rage (Chaos)” and followed the fans in an after party at the same venue from where everyone left with the best memories.
