The group's first CD with new vocalist Eddie Hermida (ex-ALL SHALL PERISH) will be released next summer via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, a division of Nuclear Blast Records formed by Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger and former Roadrunner A&R chief Monte Conner. "This record will be the grittiest, most meaningful piece of work we've ever stood behind,” commented guitarist Mark Heylmun. “We cannot wait for everyone to hear it. "Steve Evetts is someone we've worked closely with for a long while, not only on 'The Black Crown', but also on some instrumental demos just prior to the tragedy last fall. Here we are a year later prepping to record the nastiest, heaviest, most disgusting work we've ever done. Expect the unexpected. This is for Mitch." MALEVOLENT CREATION Completes Recording New Song ‘Corporate Weaponry’

Florida-based death metal veterans MALEVOLENT CREATION have finished mixing a brand new song called "Corporate Weaponry". The track, which is currently being mastered by Eric Koondel, will be made available — along with the previously released new cut "Face Your Fear" — for download on iTunes and other online outlets within a few weeks. A full-length album will follow next year. "Face Your Fear", which can be streamed below, was recorded, produced and mixed at drummer Gus Rios' studio, Riversound Productions, except for the vocals, which were laid down with Jim Nickles at his Shredly Studios. "This is only one song of many Phil [Fasciana, guitar] and I are working on," Gus Rios toldDecibel back in August. "We are still debating how we are going to go about releasing new music. "For a band like ours, with 11 albums and more than 110 songs, it's just not making sense to record 10 new songs. We are thinking (still not 100%) that doing EPs might be the way. That way we can concentrate on writing five really good songs and play them all live as well. "We don't want to be a band that has to rely on its past. We want to write songs that are good enough that people will want to hear them live, as well as the 'classics.' And realistically, we would only do about five songs off of any new album anyway due to the extensive catalog." Regarding how MALEVOLENT CREATION has managed to retain its musical identity after going through so many lineup changes over the course of the last 20 years, Gus Rios told Rádio Evil: "Since 1997, pretty much every single MALEVOLENT CREATION song anybody's ever heard, me and Phil [Fasciana, guitar] actually wrote. I live in Fort Lauderdale, and so doesPhil, and that's the songwriting nucleus of MALEVOLENT. So as long as the two of us are still in the band, it's always gonna sound like MALEVOLENT CREATION, you know what I mean?! That's the consistency of the band — the primary songwriters. And then, of course, Brett[Hoffman, vocals]." MALEVOLENT CREATION's latest album, "Invidious Dominion", was released in August 2010 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records (in Europe through Massacre). The effort was made available in various territories as a regular CD; digipack with bonus material; and vinyl LP. "Invidious Dominion" was recorded at Mana Recording Studios (CANNIBAL CORPSE,VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE) in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer Erik Rutan (MORBID ANGEL, HATE ETERNAL, CANNIBAL CORPSE). The CD's cover art was created by renowned artist Pär Olofsson (THE FACELESS, IMMORTAL, ABYSMAL DAWN).

Ulcerate
Vermis

The review of the band that released the best album of 2011, the omnipotent crushing album ‘’The Destroyers Of All’’, is a great responsibility for me personally and I am lucky enough to be able to witness the evolution of New Zealand based Ulcerate in its whole.

PARADISE LOST: Lyric Video For New Song ‘Loneliness Remains’

The official lyric video for the new song "Loneliness Remains" from British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST can be seen below. From the harrowing doom of their 1990 debut, "Lost Paradise", to 1991's genre-defining"Gothic", to 1995's break-out masterpiece "Draconian Times", to 1997's electronically tinged"One Second", to 2007's return to a heavier form "In Requiem", to last year's opus "Tragic Idol", PARADISE LOST have continued to evolve since their inception in 1988, inspiring countless artists throughout the years. To celebrate their influence on the scene, a special compilation will be released this fall to commemorate the band's 25th-anniversary landmark. Entitled "Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)" , this album will be released on October 21 in Europe (digitally on October 29 in North America) and features artwork by Parisian designerValnoir, who has worked with artists such as ORPHANED LAND, MORBID ANGEL, WATAIN, and more than 150 others. All tracks found on the compilation are previously released rarities — except the new track "Loneliness Remains", and newly recorded "Gothic 2013" and "Our Saviour 2013". "Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)" track listing: 01. Loneliness Remains 02. Never Take Me Alive (SPEAR OF DESTINY cover version) 03. Ending Through Changes 04. The Last Fallen Saviour 05. Last Regret (Lost in Prague Orchestra Mix) 06. Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us (Lost in Prague Orchestra Mix) 07. Cardinal Zero 08. Back On Disaster 09. Sons Of Perdition 10. Godless 11. Missing (EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL cover version) 12. Silent In Heart 13. Gothic 2013 14. Our Saviour 2013 PARADISE LOST's Aaron Aedy (guitar) comments: “The years surrounding our formation in the 20th century would have earmarked this as a B-sides collection. These were the songs that were left over from an album recording session you couldn't fit on to the sound quality restrictive, optimal length of both sides of a vinyl LP. You then usually used these for the flip side of your single as a nice extra for fans and also perhaps, as an incentive for the collectors to purchase to help any important charting or sales which could facilitate radio airplay, the best and most important way for your band to heard at that time. "Yes, my friends, it's hard to imagine now, there was a time before the Internet! A time when, even during the recording and writing of songs for our 'Lost Paradise' album, tape-trading demos and live tracks on the underground scene via mail (the real physical post kind!) were essential to a band's chance of being known by the people who would 'get it.' The magazinesMetal Hammer, Metal Forces and Kerrang! also had a couple of champions of the underground scene too, helping bands like ourselves be known on a wider scale, but rarer still indeed back then were the audio and visual outlets. In the U.K., we had the legendary 'Friday Rock Show With Tommy Vance', who introduced myself and many others to a lot of the bands they went on to love for life. Later, TV shows 'The Powerhour', 'Raw Power' and, of course, 'Headbangers Ball' on MTV. All, of course, pre-empted that Smörgåsbord of information, the Internet, for the discerning and hungry-for-more rock music fans to feast upon. "Twenty five years has seen a lot of change, not just musically for the band — take 'Our Saviour' and 'Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us', for instance. The Internet has broadened the choice of music we can readily hear enormously, and more importantly, hear and see for ourselves to form our own opinion — not just what the larger commercial companies and stations want us to hear! "Added to our extra tracks from the past, we've included the recent re-recordings of 'Gothic'and 'Our Saviour'. This is something as a musician you find a strange experience. "We as a band have always been an album rather a single band, and re-recording old songs is most often best left alone — but when we rehearsed 'Our Saviour', a song long lost from our live sets for a good twenty years, we found it pretty exciting and fun! We decided before hitting the studio that we would not record it as a perfect 21st-century studio version, as I don't feel this song would benefit from it (in fact more so, lose its original charm), but we decided to just do it quick and almost demo speed. Whilst recording to capture the most raw element, we drafted in our old friend and producer Simon Efemey, who worked on our'Shades Of God', 'Icon' and 'Draconian Times' recordings to capture this, which whilst working to make it sound raw, made it fun too! Don't think of the re-recordings as replacements for our originals, but just as five blokes having fun and re-visiting the past in the studio. "I hope this collection helps some of the people who like our music have a more completed playlist of our most recent album sessions' songs. I personally am very pleased that 'The Last Fallen Saviour' is here, as I would love to have had that on the 'Tragic Idol' album. Also'Cardinal Zero', which only just didn't make the cut for 'Faith Divides Us…' due to it having a very different vibe to the other album tracks. Both nonetheless, I feel are very strong songs and show a slightly different side to those writing periods. "CD and downloads not having a 'flip side' or 'side B' had almost made that term redundant, but for a resurgent vinyl hardcore that has thankfully kept that one alive, I'm pleased to say. I often reminisce those teen years of travelling home excited on the bus with a new LP, reading all the lyrics, enjoying the large enough cover to make artwork intricately delightful and worthwhile. Great heart-warming memories for me, indeed. Yet the music new and old I'm discovering on the Internet these days in the 21st century is an absolute joy! I'm pleased to have had both experiences during my years with PARADISE LOST and the future holds who knows what. I for one am very excited though to see where we go next! "Here's wishing everyone all the best from PARADISE LOST and most importantly, thank you very much from us all for your amazing support, which humbles us greatly. Twenty five years and counting!" PARADISE LOST has also confirmed that its 25th-anniversary "Tragic Illusion" tour has been extended to now include a number of European dates. As with the U.K. shows, the band will be supported by both LACUNA COIL and KATATONIA (who will be playing the entire "Viva Emptiness" album at all shows).

SUICIDE SILENCE Recruits ALL SHALL PERISH Singer

California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE have officially announced the addition of ALL SHALL PERISH singer Hernan "Eddie" Hermida to the group's ranks. Comments SUICIDE SILENCE: "For those of you unfamiliar, our relationship with Eddie goes way back to the 'Spreading Disease Tour', our first U.S. headlining run, in 2006. [LateSUICIDE SILENCE singer] Mitch [Lucker] and Eddie remained longtime friends and we felt that if the band were to continue, it should be with someone Mitch knew personally and respected as both a friend and an artist. We've chosen Eddie as our new frontman in association with this long-standing relationship and countless other attributes, from his quality of character to his dynamic vocal abilities that make him the absolute best fit for this band. "We hope you all will embrace this decision with open arms understanding that this is whatMitch would have wanted. He would want his brothers to stick together and carry forward what he helped create. Every time we step on stage, it will be in his honor and for his legacy. "SUICIDE SILENCE will continue." GENE HOGLAN: Teaser For ‘The Atomic Clock: The Clock Strikes Two’ DVD

A teaser for "The Atomic Clock: The Clock Strikes Two", the forthcoming DVD from legendary extreme-metal drummer Gene Hoglan (TESTAMENT, DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARK ANGEL, DETHKLOK), can be seen below. In a recent interview with Metal Assault, Gene stated about what fans can expect to see on the forthcoming disc: "Well, I managed to get licenses to a lot of songs that I've played. We put together a small track listing of me playing along to the actual recorded versions of a lot of people's favorite tunes. "On the next one, I'm getting even more licenses, but on this one I've included a bunch of bands that I've played for and still playing for. That's the notable difference. "On the first "The Atomic Clock", I didn't get any licenses so I merely played to the bandMECHANISM, which at the time was my main focus. I even played two instrumental tracks ofMECHANISM as opposed to playing the whole song. This time I'm not playing instrumental tracks except for one from one of my more popular bands, but I've got all the basic instrumental backing tracks and I'm playing along to those as opposed to having all the vocals, samples and everything else on it. For the most part, that's a major difference and that's really exciting, seeing myself play to actual recorded tracks to some of these cool bands. "It's in the stages of editing right now. It's coming along great; it looks better than the last one and way more pro. It's an improved version of the last one. I'm still pretty light-hearted in it and I don't take myself real seriously. It's got a lot of footage that the last one didn't have. So I'm sure people checking it out will see that it's definitely a departure from the first one. That was done on a shoe-string budget, pretty much all by myself, but for this one I've got a team of experts helping me with it." Earlier this week, Gene announced a few of the tracks that will be included on the DVD: * TESTAMENT - "Rise Up" * MELDRUM - "A Toast To Romance" * GALAKTIKON - "On My Way" * STRAPPING YOUNG LAD - "Skeksis" The jam-packed DVD is available for pre-sale now, with several awesome package options.

Brazilian death metallers KRISIUN joined German thrashers DESTRUCTION on stage on Sunday, September 22 at the Rock In Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil to perform a cover version of the VENOM classic "Black Metal". Video footage of the performance can be seen below. Said DESTRUCTION vocalist/bassist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer: "I would like to dedicate this performance to my old-time buddy Michael Trengert [Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade] that passed away in that night when we were on stage in Rio. "Michael was one of the founders of the German metal scene, a great friend and maybe the most honest guy in this monkey business. He will be missed like no one else! "RIP, brother — your legacy will never die!" DESTRUCTION's 30th-anniversary album, "Spiritual Genocide", was released on November 23, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records.
