Hard rock titans DISTURBED have announced a 2016 tour in support of their upcoming sixth studio release, “Immortalized”. The tour, which kicks off March 11 in Vancouver, will offer a rare chance to see DISTURBED‘s arena-ready show in an up close and personal setting, such as The Fillmore in San Francisco, Irving Plaza in New York City, Roseland Theater in Portland, and more. Fans who pre-order the new album on Disturbed1.com will have exclusive access to the ticket presale on August 18 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets are available to the general public starting on August 21.
“Our return from hiatus was for one reason: we are dying for our fix of the live experience,” said DISTURBED singer David Draiman. “We need to satisfy our addiction to the feeling you get when you play to the most dedicated and vibrant fan base in existence, the DISTURBED ones. We know the arena shows will come, but we wanted to start out feeling like it did in the old days. Intimate, hot, and intense. We can’t wait. Prepare yourselves. The Leviathan has risen.”
“Immortalized” will be made available on August 21 through Reprise Records. Lead single “The Vengeful One” is out now, along with the accompanying animated video from award-winning filmmaker Phil Mucci. The upcoming release follows 2010’s gold-certified “Asylum”, DISTURBED‘s fourth consecutive #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and the group’s subsequent break, which gave members Draiman, Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums) and John Moyer (bass) the necessary reprieve to make this imminent and deliberate return.
Regarding the songwriting process for “Immortalized”, Draiman told Billboard.com: “There’s a lot of new and fresh in the mix. We had more input on each other’s parts than we probably ever had previously. Everything was really put under the microscope and everybody had an opinion, and, believe me, everyone was voicing them loudly. You get all these very, very alpha type of mentalities all in one room together, all being very, very cocksure about what they want to do and how they want to do it. There were fireworks on an occasion or two, but I must say everyone was very, very decent and open and willing to try anything anyone suggested at any point in time. We were very, very cooperative with one another, very professional the entire time — not that we haven’t always been, but especially this time.”
DISTURBED will play its first show in four years on August 21 at the House of Blues in the band’s hometown of Chicago.
