Steven Wilson, producer-songwriter-sound enginner-genius-prototype and the list can go on forever… He released his new masterpiece record “The Raven That Refused to Sing” after “Grace for Drowning” which also happened to be amazing, and some relevant/ irrelevant in between releases. After “Storm Corrosion” experiment, Wilson decides to place himself to the procedure of reclaiming the progressive rock throne that himself already owns eitherway!
Having huge musicians of the universal top class beside him “The raven…” has reached a chilling result that only “classic” records can breathe out from the first listening session! It’s really obvious in the way the songs sound that the influences are coming from the once prog masters of the past thus being the British prog rock scene with bands such as King Crimson, Genesis, Steve Hackett, Camel etc…
Marco Minnenman, Guthrie Govan, Nick Beggs, Adam Holzman, Theo Travis really play their souls out on these great songs. Prog rock mixed with Jazz fusion of the 70s and really there’s no record that amazed me more than these 6 songs. Absolutely incredible. The mixing, the production, and far most of all the compositions themselves and the performance are absolutely beautiful and naturally pleasing to the ears!
Alan Parsons’ co-production cannot be left apart since he has a long catalogue of globally successful works throughout the years with his top achievement being Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”…So another credit of the record just revealed its face…
If this record had been released around the 70s it would have been already a classic in its genre… Hope we are all here in 30 years time to find out what will happen with it! In my record collection it stands out as one of the most important albums I’ve heard in my life and there are moments I’ d like to be in front of any of these guys that contributed to it just to greet and say a big thank you for delivering such an amazing release for the pleasure of my ears and my soul!
BUY THIS RECORD IS IMPORTANT THAT IT STANDS OUT IN THE SALES CHART FOREVER!!! THE WORLD MUST KNOW AND HEAR IT FOR THE REST OF THE HUMAN SPECIES!!! THIS IS THE BEST RECORD FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS!!! IT’S ALREADY CLASSIC!!!
Don’t read this anymore! Listen at once!
