Terror are one of the biggest names in the hardcore scene and with their latest and sixth full release they are proving their highlighted position in the whole genre. In this very release which is named “Live By The Code” , Terror are making one step forward without leaving their roots behind. So first of all their fans don’t need to worry about that change . The band changed their style a bit in melodies but in “Live By The Code” we can still see their well known points (aggressive riffs, waving tempos , breakdowns , positive thinking lyrics etc) so the result suits perfect to my-our ears.
The whole sound of the album is as heavy as “Keepers Of The Faith” but it has an extra 90’s feeling of oldschool hardcore bands like Agnostic Front and sick of it all which I believe is their secret ingredient to the whole outcome , and Terror is a band that has the know-how to do this. “Live By The Code” kicks off with a song called “The most High” , a perfect way to open this album without intros and stuff. It’s a powerful song with a typical hardcore groove and I believe its my favorite of the album. “Not Impressed” comes next giving us a great oldschool feeling which makes you move your head to it tunes.
Most of the songs of “Live By The Code” are moving in that territory with two faster songs the title track “Live by the code” which has been available on the internet for a while with a more thrashy catch , and “Invasion” an attacking track with speedy grooves and a cool breakdown before it ends.Overall “Live By The Code” is Terror’s most mature work out there and it’s a highlight of this year’s releases . Keep the faith!
